Description

Kunwar Narayan is a great poet of our time. If a list of the worlds most celebrated poets were compiled, he would undoubtedly find a place in it. He is among those poets of modern understanding and sensibility who have always viewed poetry as an adornment of humanity. Kunwar Narayans poetry is not only a poetry of human qualities but also of human values. His entry into poetry began with Chakravyuh. In this collection, artistic yet philosophical in its structure, the poet has skillfully captured the complexities of life. Kunwar Narayan, writing Vajashrava ke Bahane almost half a century after Atmajyee, also aims to convey that if Atmajyee viewed life from the perspective of death, Vajashrava ke Bahane is an attempt to view death from the perspective of life. We can view this statement of his in the light that everything depends on our way of seeingsuch that this lifes wisdom, like a verse, is well-structured and irrefutable. His creative work has been written about from time to time. Numerous researchers have worked on his personality and literature. Needless to say, Kunwar Narayans oeuvre is multifaceted. Important articles written on his personality and works before 2002 are included in a collection called Atithi. This collection of essays written after that is in two volumes: Anvay and Anviti. Anviti is a selection of critical essays written with his works as a focus. It includes articles on his works, excluding some recent published works that were not included in Atithi. Most of the articles are from 2015, when Kunwar Narayans epic poem, Kumarjiv, was published. It is hoped that readers will find these two volumes useful and relevant and will develop an interest in Kunwar Narayans literature.
