A journey from Kashmir to Orissa, our own Konark! Born and raised in the lush valley of Kashmir, Chandrakanta had the opportunity to live in many parts of India. However, the six years she spent in Orissa proved invaluable to her creativity. She experienced the essence of the local lifestyle, folklore, and traditions, of which Our Own Konark is a living testimony. Through the novels protagonist, Suni, she presents the common Odia people, their past and present. Believing in Mor Gaurav Jagannath, the common Odia people are captivated by their traditional light, protective, and cultured. Yet, like all of us, they are also prone to superstition and conservative thinking. Kuni is the eldest daughter of this protective family, bound by the shackles of thousands of responsibilities, though she doesnt recognize them as shackles. Forging her own path, she confronts the realities of the times and strives to discover and discover her inner self.
