Description

Chandranath was an emotional young man. Driven by emotion, he married Saryu, the daughter of a poor mother. A few days later, he feared that society would defile Saryu. Her only crime was that her mother had eloped after falling in love with a lecherous young man. Therefore, she was a prostitute, and Saryu was the daughter of a prostitute. When Chandranath heard this, he agreed to abandon Saryu out of fear of society. Saryu was the embodiment of kindness and love. Her upbringing was such that she had such devotion and reverence for her husband as she had for God. Unwilling to let her husband suffer, she attempted to poison herself. But in time, she was forced to stop because she was about to become a mother. Everyone bowed to Saryus resilience. Finally, Chandranath mustered the courage and took Saryu, who had fled to Kashi after being ostracized, home. No one was harmed. But poor Kailash was crushed in the conflict. Kailash Kaka had no one of his own, and no one to call his own. If he did, it was his chess set. Saryu was the daughter of a prostitute, so no one gave her a place. Kailash Kaka took her into his home, and his son Vishu fell so deeply in love with her that he couldnt bear to be separated from her, and he died. This book also includes a long story called Bhoj, which tells the story of a young man whose newlywed wife, stricken with cholera, shatters his dreams of happiness and leaves his in-laws in tears. At the urging of his loved ones, he marries Nalini again. Nalini is not only beautiful but also intelligent...
