India is identified by its spirituality. Saint Dadu Dayal presented his spiritual teachings in a very simple manner in Rajasthani, Gujarati, and Urdu. He concludes by explaining that one should divert ones attention from the world and focus it on God. Once ones attention is focused on Brahman, the senses cease to be drawn to external objects. This removes the restlessness of the mind and facilitates the absorption of the attention in Brahman. For four hundred years, from the latter half of the 16th century to the latter half of the 20th century, the Dadupanthis, along with Saint Dadu Dayal, contributed to the creation of literature and contributed to the enrichment and strengthening of Indian society and culture. In the 20th century, the Dadupanthis established Sanskrit colleges and several other schools. These schools taught Daduvan, music, physical education, and English.The teachers at the colleges and schools were experts in grammar, literature, Vedanta, Ayurveda, and various philosophies. The Dadupanthis awakened environmental consciousness by glorifying the ponds and trees associated with the sect. They wrote Imli Mahatmya, Vat Tirtha Mahatmya, Shami Tirtha, Khejra Mahatmya, etc. The places associated with Dadu Dayal were established as Panchdham. These places are: 1. Kalyanpur (Kardala) Tirtha, 2. Sambhar Tirtha, 3. Amer Tirtha, 4. Narayana Dadudham Tirtha, 5. Giri Tirtha Bhairana. Understanding of the Dadupanth is developed not only by studying the books of Dadu Dayal but also by his disciples and trainees and by studying the places associated with him.
