The funny thing of it is, that I had started to write an epic tale about ten years ago. I got about 200 pages into it, when I realized that I needed back story, so I started a prequil. I got about a a hundred pages into that one, and realized that I STILL needed a better further back story. I was about to ditch the entire project out of frustration. My wife patted my pointed little head and told me that maybe I had been spending far too much time in the box, so to speak.Well, a few days later, I was reading an article on European History, when I stumbled square into the Dark Ages. The entire epic of The Empire Chronicles hit me like a blast of lightning. Before, I had been inside the Galactic Empire, and now, I was outside of it, well out on the Galactic Frontier, where the Old Empire was nothing but rumor, legend and fable.
