Description
Balasaheb Deorasji was the third Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He lived a simple life and was affable, yet he shied away from publicity, yet he was a skilled organizer and visionary. To understand Balasahebjis life, the memoirs of Babu Rao Chauthai Waleji in this book are noteworthy. Balasahebjis historic speech at the Spring Lecture Series in Pune proved that he was a pioneer of social harmony. In one of his speeches, he said, If untouchability is not a sin, then nothing in this world is a sin. The present-day Dalit community, who are still Hindus, accepted being excluded from caste but did not accept forced conversion by foreign rulers. Balasahebji witnessed all three government bans on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (in 1948, 1975, and 1992). During his tenure, many historic events occurred within the countryOperation Blue Star, the Punjab crisis, the reservation controversy, the Shah Bano case, the Ayodhya movement, etc. This readable book provides a glimpse into the inspiring life of the historical figure Balasaheb Deorasji.
