Jeevan Kya Jiya : Baate Kuchh Apni, Kuchh Apno Ki

Namvar Singh did not write an autobiography, yet his autobiography continued to be published in excerpts. This book collects and organizes such excerpts from his oral writings so that they can be read systematically. The first section contains a series of memories from his childhood to his final days. Memories related to prominent figures are included in the second section. An excerpt from his diary is presented in the third section, providing an insight into Namvars daily life. Besides the diary, there are only two written excerpts in the entire book: Ek Kitab Prithviraj Raso: Bhasha aur Sahitya and Woh Aakhri Mulakat Se Shamsher. The rest are all Namvars oral writings. This autobiography is composed by combining excerpts from lectures and interviews given from time to time. Readers interested in knowing Namvars story will find it interesting. The title of this book is taken from a line in Muktibodhs famous poem Andhere Mein. The central theme of the poem Andhere Mein from which this line is taken is the self-criticism of the middle class. Namvar ji often used this passage in his conversations. He also concluded his long memoir published in the magazine Tadbhav with this passage.
