In 1930, Zohra Apa went to Dresden, Germany, to train in modern dance at Mary Wigmans dance school. This decision was unusual for an Indian young woman from a Nawab family. Kameshwar Sehgal was also a member of this company, and she married him in 1942. Her fourteen years at Prithvi Theatre were at the heart of a significant chapter in Indian theatre. She also witnessed the formation and subsequent dissolution of IPTA from a close perspective.
