Manasarovar is a collection of Premchands stories, compiled by him in eight volumes. It is considered one of the greatest works of Indian literature. Popular and readable, these eight volumes are considered a mirror of the lives of the people of North India. Premchands writings remain significant even today due to their deep concerns and heartfelt writing skills.Premchand was born on July 31, 1880, in Lamhi, a small village near Varanasi. His full name was Dhanpat Rai Srivastava. From childhood, he had a deep love for books. He initially wrote under the pen name Nawab Rai. Later, he adopted the pseudonym Premchand. His early writings were in Urdu, but he later began writing in Hindi. In his short life of 56 years, he wrote 25 novels and over 200 stories. The Novel Emperor Premchand died on October 8, 1936.
