About the Logbook:The competency driven curriculum places great emphasis on the acquisition of a pre-defined set of knowledge, skills, attitude and values that would allow the learner to become a physician of firstcontact in the community. Traditional summative assessment is not sufficient to ensure that the learner has indeed acquired requisite competencies. As defined, the logbook is a verified record of the progression of the learner documenting the acquisition of requisite knowledge, skills, attitude and/or competencies. The logbook this is an academic document that becomes both a snap shot of the progress of the learner as well as prerequisite for progression to the next phase of learning or graduation from the course.
