Description
The book Blood Telegram is a very important document for international politics during the Cold War period. The Pakistani army, known as East Pakistan Madhya Pradesh (now known as Bangladesh), indulged in unprecedented atrocities, massacred lakhs of innocent civilians and exiles fled to India to seek refuge in India. Thats why Visavya Shatakatlya became one of the most pitiful tragicomedies of Bengali country. Not only as a part of the Cold War strategy, but in the personal attacks against India and Indira Gandhi, the then US President Nixon and National Security Advisor Kissinger raised voice against the atrocities in Bangladesh, criticized US officials for supplying arms to Pakistan in violation of US law and persuaded China to wage war against India. Due to this, the call for war increased without any reason and a widespread war-like situation was created. Therefore, by reconstructing the history of the 1971 Bangladesh independence war, it is an important book to expose Americas ambivalence towards the country!
