Lieutenant General Y.K. Joshi, a top Indian Army officer, is credited with leading Indias response to the Chinese Peoples Liberation Armys attempt to forcibly change the status quo along the Line of Actual Control in 2020 as Army Commander of the Northern Command. He is the only battle-decorated Army Commander to have achieved success against both Indias adversaries, China and Pakistan. He was commissioned into the 13th Battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, Indian Army.
